Vyšehrad is a pleasant place for a
stroll away from the multitude of tourists in Prague centre.
From the Museum metro station you take the red line towards Haje
for two stops only.
A walk around the grounds will
reveal rather large statues by Myslbek that used to grace the
city's Palackeho most. Four couples are dotted across the
corners of the lawn, all taken from Prague legends:
The most significan statue is of Přemysl and Libuše:
the husband and wife team who founded Prague and started Bohemia's
first royal dynasty; the Přemyslids
The second most noteworthy statue
is of Citrad and Šarka - now that is a story and a half....
